Parallel Healing Veterinary Care refers to the integration of conventional Western medicine with alternative or complementary therapies to provide comprehensive care for animals. This approach acknowledges that health and wellness encompass physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.

Acupuncture, Herbal Medications, and Food Therapy are examples of parallel healing veterinary care. These therapies can be used in conjunction with traditional veterinary medicine to enhance patient outcomes, reduce stress, and improve quality of life.

Veterinarian Services Near Me

Initial consultation – Call me Dr Alex.  I’m so excited to meet you and your family. Just like every person is unique, so is your pet. This is why our initial consultation is all about getting to know you both so we can work together to address your pet’s needs for a lifetime of loving care.

The initial consultation is usually 1 hour and is required for all new clients. During this visit we meet your furry family members, establish our fear-free relationship, and make a plan for their care. We will also go over any previous medical history so that we can work with you toward the best life for your pet. If you have multiple pets, please inquire about our fur family discount.

Wellness Exams – A full physical exam and preventative medicine appointment is usually 1/2 hour per pet. Vaccines and annual health screenings are recommended during this visit. Typically, most dogs will receive a heartworm and tick-borne illness preventative as well as an annual fecal screening.

Non-wellness Exam – Does your pet have an ear infection? Itchy skin? Abnormal eating, urination, or defecation? Just doesn’t seem to feel well or got into a fight, etc.? Established clients will be seen with first availability, for any of their pet’s needs.

Vaccines – All pets are required by law to receive rabies vaccine. This protects them, your family, and our community from a fatal illness. Other vaccines are recommended for your pet to help keep them healthy. To protect your pet as best as possible from adverse reactions to vaccines, all our vaccines are free of heavy metals/Thimerisol.

Euthanasia Services – Compassionate care is available at home or in our office. Saying goodbye to a family member is the hardest thing we have to face in life, especially when making the difficult decision to help your beloved pet transition with peace and dignity.  When it’s time to say goodbye, we can help them pass on in the comfort of home, surrounded by the love they’ve always known. If you are unsure it is time, please schedule a consultation to discuss hospice options.  See Pricing for Euthanasia Services

Bloodwork – It is highly recommended that your pet at minimum receives an annual heartworm and tick-born illness screening. This is a very fast test that requires only 3 drops of blood. However, this tells us nothing about the true health of your pet, therefore annual complete bloodwork is ideal and encouraged. Prices vary.

Fecal Screen – Did you know that your pet is constantly exposed to parasites when outside? The eggs are microscopic and in the dirt, and are carried and passed by wild hosts too. Your monthly preventatives help stop these worms before they make your dog or cat sick, but it is still important to check for them, especially if your pet’s stools are unusual.
